Topic: The unconquerable David
Unconquerable means:Undefeatable, not be able to overcome, Incapable of being overcome or subdued. ( that is a person like King David ( 2 Sam 22:1-2).
- The Searching eyes of God (2 Chro.16:9)
- The Lord is searching for a man/woman that will stand out or can go extra miles for Him and David was found (Ps 89: 20-25), (1 Sam 16:11-13)
- If we can make ourselves available for Him, He will found us and anoint us for His purposes like David and Isaiah (Isaiah 6:8)
- David was called, chosen and anointed then chapter 17 of 1 Samuel was immediately followed to hinder or contest the anointing of God On Him (2 Cor. 1:21)
- Goliath stands at the gate/ way to stop David or to hinder him from fulfilling his calling (Gen 37:18-20), ( Tess 2:18)
- What are the Goliath of life that are challenging or want to stop the calling, choosing or anointing of God in you life?
- Goliath came and wanted to challenge or to stop David, but David proved unstoppable (Rom 8:37)
- Mrs Portiphar came, wanted to stop Joseph, but she failed through Joseph’s fear of the Lord (Gen 39:7-12)
- Satan armed himself to stop our Lord Jesus Christ but it couldn’t because of Jesus knowledge of the truth (Lk 4:1-13), (Jn 8:32)
- The Characteristic of unconquerableDavid (Acts 13:22)
- God is not a respeter of tribe, nation, person, tittle or qualification etc (Acts 10:34),(Dan 1:8), (Dan 10:11)
- What God did not found in Saul, He found it in David that is why God made His choice (1 Sam 13:13-14), (1 Sam 18:14-15).
- God is still searching for those who will obey and do His will, no matter how ridiculous it may be and not self will, nor society will (1 Sam 15:20-21,24).
- God searches in the tribes of Isreal and finally found David in tribe of Judah (Ps 78:68,70-72).
- These are the qualification that God found in David which Saul lacked (Ps 78:72), (1 Kg 9:4), (1 Kg 15:5).
- It was not David’s tittle, education, status, but his HEART of integrity.
- God is after our heart (even devil also) Pro 4:23/Pro 23:7, 2 Chro 16:9, Pro 23:26
- It was the heart of Eliab and others disqualified them from honour (1 Sam 16:6-10)
- There is no eternal security for salvation and service eg. Saul (1 Sam 13:14), ( 1 Sam 15:23), ( Pro 13:13.
- We need to seek for the mercy of God as David did and was forgiven and fully restored back to salvation and service (Ps 51), (Acts 13:34), (Isa 55:3)
- God want us to abide in His will, Word, righteousness, light etc( Jn 15:4)
- (Ps 40:8) Describes the state of David’s heart to God and he was rewarded and fully established.
- David said Lord, I️ want to be in the centre of Your will, so that I️ will be unconquerable King (Ps 143: 10-12).
- What makes David unconquerable: he always be in the centre of the will of God ( no fight, no victory, no test, no testimony, no challenge, no conqueror)
- The combatant against the unconquerable David
- Goliath did not know David, but he knows the nation of Isreal as God’s people and want to destroy it (1 Sam 17:4, 8-10).
- Satan is not fighting you, but fighting Jesus Christ that is in us and His church, that is why Satan is fighting you and me (1 Jn 4:4), ( 2 Tess 2:4).
- Satan has seen/ taken Jesus as His enemy from the beginning and had fully prepared to fight Him to submission (Gen 3:15), (Matt 21,8, 13-14). There is time to flee and time to stand and confront the devil.
- That is why he pushed the council of Sanhedrine to crucified Jesus on the Cross (1 Cor 2:8).
- David stand for Isreal which Goliath was fighting and wanted to destroy David (1 Sam 17:43-44).
- We must know/identity our enemy and not fighting shadow (1 Pt 5:8-9).
- What Goliath want to do to David (1 Sam 17:44).
- The Goliath of your life (devil) want to give your life to sickness, diseases, infirmities, failure, reproach, rejection etc, therefore put on the whole armour of God and resist him(Eph 6:10-13)
- To be unconquerablelike David, we must put on the armour of God for battle, because this world is a place of cruelty (Ps 74:20).(Eph 6:10-13)
The Seven letters of GOLIATH
- G – Greed (greed is a Goliath of today)
- Greed is a destroyer, it make man/woman fall (1 Tim. 6:9-10), (Heb. 13:5), (Phil 4:11). (Learn from King Ahab who convetedNaboth’svine yard, that brought destruction to him and his household (1 Kg 21: 1-24).
- This Goliath of greed is pushing many church people away from the righteousness of God. Be warned.
- O- oppression (oppression is a Goliath)
- Goliath was Israelites oppressor and wanted to continue oppressing them. (1 Sam 17:9).
- Oppression makes a wise man mad, never be an oppressor to anyone (Ecc 7:7)
- There’s official oppression, family oppression, business oppression, marriage oppression, church oppression, nation oppression etc.
- L- Lucifer (Goliath is a lucifer of today)
- A times Lucifer will come personallyby himself to attack because he will say his messengers (demons) are not doing it well as pleases him (1 Sam 17:23, Isa 14:12-14), (Lk 4:3 Satan came face to face with Jesus Christ) Lk 23:31, Rom 16:20.
- I️ – Infirmities (Goliath is an infirmities/ reproach)
- The woman with infirmities for 18 years by this wicked Goliath of infirmities (Lk 13:11-13).
- There are two types of infirmities
I️. Horizontal sickness- bed riding infirmities/ sickness
- Vertical sickness (she could still walk eg. Cancer etc
- A- Abomination (Goliath is abomination of today)
- Abomination will make God to drive His people away from His inheritance (Deut 18: 9-12.
- Abomination will make God to withdraw His presence from His people (church) Eph 4:17-23), (Rev 2:4), ( 1 Jn 2:10-11).
- Abomination is a Goliath where Satan find its seat
- T- Temptation (Goliath is a temptation today), 1 Sam 17:9
- There are divers of temptation from Satan that is using to tempt the children of God today eg. Position, lust of eyes, lust of flesh, pride of life etc. (1 Jn 2: 15-17), (Jam 1: 12-15).
- H-Hatred (Hatred is Goliath)
- Hostility is long abiding in the heart (1 Sam 18:7-9), (Gen 4:3-8)
- Being unhappy is different from anger (Eph 4:26)
- Anger leads to hostility and hatred (1 Sam 18:7-9), (I️ Jn 3:15)
- Hatred leads to losing eternity if it does not repented and forsaking (Gal 5:19-21)
- How did David conquered
- The courage of faith -vs 32-33
- How courageous are you in time of trouble/ storm of life?
- It is through courage you can conquer and fulfil your life destiny (Jos 1:6-9)
- The confiction of faithvs 34-36
- David had the confiction in his faith in the Lord to fight Goliath and be victorious (Heb 11:6, Matt 9:28-30, Matt 17:20
- The confidence of faith vs 37
- Paul was confidence in His God that he believed (2 Tim 1:12), The manJob(Job 19:25, Job 13:15).
- The contradiction of faith vs 38-41 (idea, methods)
- Don’t run away, by faith in God draws him near to God for your solution.
- The contempt of flesh vs 42-44
- David ignored the contempt, the boasting of the flesh and put his trust in his God.
- The confession of faith vs 45-47 (possess what you confess)
- There is power in confession eg. (Num 13:27-33, Num 14:27-28), Pro 18:20-21
- Never again will I️ confess ‘I can’t’ (Phil 4:13)
- Never again will I️ confess lack ‘My God shall supply all (Phil 4:19)
- Never again will I️ confess fear ‘for God has not given me the spirit of fear (2 Tim 1:7)
- Never again will I️ confess weakness for ‘ the Lord is my strength (Ps 22:1)
- Never again will I️ confess sickness for ‘with His stripes we are healed (Isa 53:5)
- This day is our victory, healing, breakthrough, blessings, favour etc
- The conquest of faith vs 48-51
- By faith we will smite, destroy, conquer, overcome Goliath of my life
- I will prevail over the strongman, Goliath of my life
- Because we are more than conqueror through Christ that love us (Rom 8:37)
- The result of faith vs 52
- The enemies scattered and the Israelites pursued, overtook, destroyed and spoiled their camps.
- Through faith we will pursue, overtake and recover all what the enemies/ Goliath of our lives has stolen fully (2 Sam 30-18-19).
